After five years in existence Tim and Phil (the remaining of the five founders) are going to end their active involvement in FlattrackMN.com. Tim is too busy with his new business and Phil is too old and feeble to take it over. Does this mean the website, the schools and FTMN’s promotion of flat track racing ends? We hope not. |

 It’s been our experience here in Minnesota that at times when there many race tracks, there are many riders. When the track number shrinks, so does the rider count.
Minnesota flat track is going through a period where the track number has begun to contract. FlatTrackMN.com is a non-profit organization with the single function of promoting flat track racing. That is why we are offering one thousand dollars to any promoter who creates a new racing track for Minnesota riders.

Last winter we had our first sliding school. The students (under 10) really got a bang out of it. We had a fellow from Kansas who had never seen ice before and was leery of even walking on it, never mind a crazy thing like riding on it. Turns out he was our star pupil.
We are going to do it again the second Sunday in January. Not only will you learn the fundamentals of flat track but ice allows a perfect surface for learning how to slide. To prove to you how much you will learn-we will clock each student around the track at the beginning of the day and at the end. The difference will amaze you. |
